Biography

 

Asam Sheikh realized that there was nowhere else he’d like to raise his children than in the City of Torrance, so in 2009 Asam and his wife moved their family to Torrance. He is currently a member of the City of Torrance Civil Service Commission. Previously, he served on the Library Commission where he prepared the Annual Report for the Library Commission in 2013. Asam has been a board member on Carson Villas III Home owner Association since 2007, where he has served both as President and Secretary. He is one of the four members of Loan Review Committee at Honda Federal Credit Union. He is also on the School Site Council at Casimir Middle School in Torrance.

 

Asam received a Master of Business Administration degree at Punjab College, Lahore in 1991. He followed up his studies with a Computerized Bookkeeper Certificate at the Southern California Regional Occupation Center (SCROC) in 1997. Asam received his second Master of Business Administration at California State University Dominguez Hills in 2002, and an Award in Accounting from UCLA in 2005.

 

Asam and his wife Jill are married for the last 20 years. They have two wonderful children, Jonathan Bonilla and Sarah Sheikh.

Asam's passion for business and his ability to apply his analytical mind to all matters of financial interests, lead him to a career with American Honda Motor Company, Inc. (Honda) for the past 17 years. Asam currently holds the position of Senior Financial Analyst. 

Asam Sheikh received a Master of Business Administration degree at Punjab College, Lahore in 1991. He followed up his studies with a Computerized Bookkeeper Certificate at the Southern California Regional Occupation Center (SCROC) in 1997. Asam would now like to bring his business skills and expertise in finance to further serve the City of Torrance as a member of the Torrance City Council, he says, “I have been blessed with living the American Dream here in Torrance, enjoying my work, creating a home for my family, sending my children to – in my opinion – the best schools in the country and serving the city as a Commissioner.
