My Top 3 Priorities

  • It’s time to take our streets back. Fighting crime is essential to a healthy community.
  • Bringing new jobs to Stockton and retaining current businesses.
  • More vocational education opportunities in Stockton’s schools. We need to prepare our youth with the skills needed to secure a job.

Experience

Biography

Born in 1960 in Sacramento, Steve is a lifelong resident of California’s Central Valley. Raised on 48 acres of farmland that was used to grow grapes and later hay, Steve applies the same hard work, dedication and commitment to the job that he learned on the farm.

While creating a local high school radio station, Steve developed an interest in radio broadcasting. He enjoyed a career as an announcer and on-air personality on KROY, KWOD 106, and KGNR News Radio 132 where he was known on air as “Steve Anthony”. In fact, Steve enjoys recalling his days on the radio with long-time Central Valley residents that still remember him as a popular radio personality.

While developing his career on-air, Steve also served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Sacramento Police Department.

In 1985 Steve moved to Stockton to start Metro Expositions where he proudly produces Home & Garden shows in Lodi, Stockton and Modesto. In 1992 Steve and his wife Karen created American Convention and Exposition Services, which has played a key role building more than hundreds of successful events across California. A dozen years later, Steve and Karen purchased Galaxy Rentals and developed a small retail business into what is now known as American Event Rentals, the leading event supply company in the Central Valley for weddings, graduation parties and other important community and family events.

Steve and Karen have immersed themselves in the community and Steve has been asked to take on leadership roles in many important community organizations. Steve is a past president of the Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Stockton Asparagus Festival. He also has served as Financial Vice President of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce. Steve is the proud recipient of the American Rental Association Person of the Year Award for Region Nine.

Steve and his wife Karen believe that the strength of a community is measured by its people and are proud to live, work and raise their family in Stockton. Steve and Karen have a son and daughter, Joseph and Jennifer and have recently celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.
