My Top 3 Priorities

  • I am passionate about ensuring sustainable and safe drinking water is available to our community.

  • My career has always been about public service - I plan to use my education and experience to best serve the water needs of my community.

Profession:Water Engineer & Soquel Creek Water Board Incumbent
Director, Soquel Creek Water District — Appointed position (2016–current)
Senior Civil Engineer/Sanitation Engineer, County of Santa Cruz (1994–2015)

University of California Davis BS and MS Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering (1986)

I have B.S. and M.S degrees from U.C. Davis in civil engineering, 32 years of experience as a civil engineer with more than 18 years of experience in the water and wastewater field. My experience includes working as an engineer for the Modesto Irrigation District, working for various consulting firms on groundwater investigations and remediation projects and as a civil engineer for the County of Santa Cruz.

From 2001-2015, I was the Sanitation Engineer for the County of Santa Cruz, which included managing work and budgets within three Special Districts and six sanitation service areas. I managed the engineering design and construction of over $30 million in upgrades to old sewers near waterways with partial or full grant funding.  I have been active in the California Water and Environment Association in order to fully understand and be a part of the future of water in our world.

Recently, I was appointed by the Soquel Creek Water District Board of Directors to fill a vacant seat on the Board.  The selection process included submitting a resume regarding your qualifications and two interviews that were conducted in a public meeting by the Board.  I was selected from a pool of 15 candidates that were interviewed based on my qualifications and experience.
