Experience

Education

University of California Berkeley BS, MBA , Business, specifically finance (1979)

Biography

I have a BS and MBA from UC Berkeley, and worked for several banks and a technology company before staying home to raise my children.  I have worked on behalf of education for 27 years serving in many capacities--budget committees, Sober Grad Night, PTC President, raised money and constructed a $100,000 shade pavilion, promoted elementary Art and Science Docent programs, interviewed key personnel and participated in the growth of a private educational foundation.  I am currently active with the California School Boards Association and sit on the board of directors, concerned with statewide education matters.

I have been married for 35 years, and raised four children, all of whom were products of public education through high school and university.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My focus in my adult life has been education.  I still see education as being the equalizer and it is more important than ever for our state to educate our children.  For the past 12 years, I have served on the Board of the Roseville Joint Union HSD, primarily to ensure opportunities for each of our 10,000 students, and keep the focus on academics.  I was instrumental in bringing the International Baccalaureate program to our district, and was responsible for the creation of an online Personal Finance course graduation requirement.
