Biography

Native of Auburn and graduate of local schools. BA degree from San Francisco State University, MA from Monterey Institute of International Studies, and MPA from Golden Gate University. Career Naval officer. awarded Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with "V", Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), and Navy Comendation Medal.

Elected and served 12 years on the Auburn City Council (2 terms as Mayor). Received two leadership awards from the California League of Cities and the McCann Award for local service to the community.
