My Top 3 Priorities

  • Make Rim USD compete and win against competitors. Individualize and revolutionize education. Ask the tough questions. Work with the teachers, parents, students, community- no more top-down, build it from the bottom up.
  • If possible, find ways to bring back adult ed, pregnant minors, independent study programs and move Mountain High to its own site again.
  • Bring Rim back to its heyday. Years ago, teachers, parents, and students flocked to and loved our district. We've excelled before and CAN again.

Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California Education Fund (1)

A recent law made major changes in the way that the state allocates funding to schools.  What will you do to ensure that the public understands your local control formula for school spending and your plan to measure outcomes?
Answer from Gretchen Davies:

Rim got less funding than many districts because we have less of certain populations. Therefore we must almost crowdsource for solutions and look at the budget to see what can be cut without harming teachers and sstudents. We need to be transparent at Rim regarding budget when possible. I will post Tim's budget issues/solutions which they have available in the district office.
