Biography

Lange Luntao is a third-generation teacher who was raised in Stockton schools.

Born to a father from the Philippines and a mother from the Midwest, Lange spent his early years in his parents’ classrooms where he witnessed the impact exceptional teachers can have on a young person’s life. In high school, Lange served as a student trustee on his local school board where he advocated for young people to have a voice in education policymaking.

He went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts with Honors from Harvard University, where he was elected as a Marshal of the Class of 2012 and co-launched the Fair Harvard Fund - a project to motivate Harvard to adopt socially-responsible investment strategies. After completing a Fulbright Fellowship in Malaysia, Lange returned to Stockton to serve in public service and education - first working with Councilmember Michael Tubbs campaign, and now as an Early College Sociology Educator at Aspire Langston Hughes Academy (a college preparatory 6th-12th school). A founding member of the South Stockton Schools Initiative and an alumnus of Teach for America, Lange works to bridge the gap between communities and schools.
