Biography

"Edward T. Lewis - a candidate of Leadership, Character and Commitment!  A US Army Veteran, he served six years, Airborne Infantry (1983 - 1989).  His parents also served in the US Army, and he credits them for building the foundation of honor, integrity and strong work ethics that he lives by today.    Edward worked 15 years in the public sector, taught 5 years as an Adjunct Lecturer, and is currently in the private sector. Over the past 20 years, he served on 14 boards and commissions and received awards notably from Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, Sacramento Kings and the Wells Fargo Foundation, National Association of Black Social Workers for his commitment to Community Health, Education, Mental Health, Community Advocacy and Leadership achievements.    Edward earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from California State University, Chico (1991 and 1998), and a second Masters in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento (2002).   Edward is involved, committed, focused and determined to make differences in his community at large and make the City of Sacramento a greater, safer and healthier place to live, work and raise a family.   Edward is qualified to be a voice for his community with the experience to back it up."
