My Top 3 Priorities

  • Support equal opportunities for all students to thrive in their academic pursuits
  • Listen and work collaboratively with parents and educators
  • Bring fiscal accountability and transparency to the board

Hi, I’m Sean Griffin and I want to represent you by serving as an OUSD School Board Trustee.  I care greatly about our community and believe that strong public schools benefit both our students and community as a whole. I understand public education and will hold administrators and teachers accountable to reach strong educational goals. I was actively engaged in the school bond campaigns and want to be able to make sure that the expenditures of those funds are aligned with the promises made to the voters.

With 20 years of experience working with students receiving special education services and as a parent of a student with a disability, I understand and appreciate the challenges that parents face every day. I will be accessible to support all parents in their goal of obtaining the appropriate educational services for their students.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

While rigorous, data driven instruction is essential for providing opportunities for students to achieve their maximum potential, not everyone has a goal of attending college or university. I believe strongly in providing pathways from high school directly to well-paying jobs. I will support the expansion of career technical training opportunities, so our students will graduate college and/or career ready.

As a Board Trustee, my focus will be:

·          Listening and working collaboratively with parents and educators
·          Providing safe school environments
·          Supporting equitable opportunities for all students to thrive in their academic pursuits
·          Being fiscally accountable and transparent

I know OUSD schools as a parent, because my wife and I chose to send our child to these schools. I know OUSD schools as a volunteer, because we were engaged in both the educational experiences of our son, as well as his extra-curricular activities. I know OUSD schools as a professional with 20 years of experience in public education.

I am proud to be endosed by OUSD teachers and I am eager to work hard to serve our community and every student in the Orange Unified School District.
