Biography

What a better experience could one ask for in a Board of Trustees member than to have one who has been both a teacher and admoinistrator at the elementary, middle and high school levels.  It has been my distinct pleasure to do just that! I began my career in the Centralia School District, working in both regular and special educaion.  From there, I moved on to the Charter oak Union High School District whre I worked as a Resource Specialist Teacher in both the middle and high school levels, as well as coached both Tennis and Wrestling.  In that distrit I became a principal of Glen Oak Elementary School as well as WEashington Elementary School, the district "School of the Future".  My career contineud to expand with my move to the Huntington Beach City School District whre I served as the Principal of Moffett Elementary Schiool for four years.

I was next asked to take on the assignment of Middle School Principal at Isaac Sowers Middle School where I remained for 15 years.  Durin that time, Sowers Middle School not only was aearded the title of California Distinguished School but also earned the prestigious National Blue ribbon School Aard of Excellence!  My career goals were by no means over as I then set my eyes on prncipalship at teh High school level.  I was next, employed by the Huntington Beach Union High School District as Principal of Marina High School whre I served for 9 years.  While serving at Marina we earnedc the title of California Distinguished School and was listed in Newseek's Top Schools in the Nation and had a number of teachers and progras receive outstanding recognition through the Orange Couyty Office of Education and orgaizations such as the California League of High Scghools, Sunset League and CIF.  I currently serve on the Board of Turstees for the Huntington Beach City School District, serve as Area Director for Surf City Younglife (a christian ministry in HB), volunteer as a Chair for the Western Association of Schools an Colleges where I review schools all over the world including Hawaii, Africa and China.

In my spare tim I enjoy surfing, where I have been recognized in the International Hall of Surfing Fame - Honor Roll.  I also served as the Director of the National Scholastic Surfing Associatin JR. competitive surfing series for 27 years.  I enjoy trekking upmountains in unique and for off places such as Mt. EVerest, Mt. Kilimnajaro , Mt. Salkanty in Peru and Machu Picchu.  I also enjoy flying airplanse, scuba diving, sailing and I am an active participant in my church, Rock Harbor, Costa Mesa, where I serve as a commuity Pastor, Lead Usher and Leader in their Kingdom Culture program.  I have been on a number of mission trips to Uganda and Israel and currently support a family in Gulu, Uganda.
