- Publc Safety - Work with Police & Fire to make sure response times improve and crime remains low. Support ongoing work of the Youth Violence Prevention Committee.
- Responsible Budgeting - Help to make the budget simple and clear so everyone can be sure that funds are properly applied and used in the most effective way.
- Improving Infrastructure - Traffic and transportation are big issues. Support traffic calming effforts in Union City to reduce "pass through" traffic. Work to get East-West Connector completed. Push for Dumbarton Rail.

Union City already has an inclusionary law that requires builders to either include some affordable housing or pay for some affrodable housing when they construct a new development. In addition we have established a rent and tenant task force to study the best ways to approach this problem I plan to continue these efforts and to work with consultants and arbitrators in specific rent issues.
The city is already dealing with the unfunded liabilites, primarily caused by the lack of investment income from PERS. Work with the finance group of the city staff to make sure we continue to pay down this liability over the next 15 years as planned.
Work closely with the school board and suport them in their efforts to improve schools. Also, I plan to look at ways to get bussing back for our school children. This will reduce traffic and insure safe travels fo and from school. Lastly, work with the Planning Commission to insure that there are safe wolking and biking routes to and from school.

Utilize traffic calming techniqes to force "pass through" traffic back onto the freeways and not through our city. Push for use of alternative transportation when possible. Push to get the East West Connector completed as soon as possible and work to see if we cannot get the Dumbarton Rail back on track.
