Support Special Education in Public School!!!

The first choice for Stockton Unified School District Board Trustee 4, I came from Special Education in Public School Mainstream System. I feel they don’t get enough credit for given for their persistent efforts to teach your child’s IEP education, I am driven to try and do my best at anything I pursue. I do not discriminate against a person’s educational background, disabilities, and communication barriers. Running for SUSD Board Trustee 4, I want to be the advocate for all students with disabilities or not, provide parents with more educational options for their disabled child, and bring more awareness and involvement to the community and organization.

I want to advocate for students with disabilities by providing:

Role models who can educate students on peer pressure, bullying, improve students self-esteem, self- worth, acceptance, enhance family values, and help students without disabilities understand students with disabilities.

Making sure there are enough special education school programs to improve students learning goals.
-Schools must have sufficient funds to provide schools with sufficient special education teachers to meet the students with disabilities demands.

Make sure there are enough special education teachers.

Provide parents with more options for their disabled child educational learning goals:

Make sure teachers are able to thoroughly explain the student’s progress to the parents and that parents know what their child with disability is learning in school. It’s important that the school program matches what the student is learning (curriculum matches up with what is taught daily).

Make sure the teacher is able to educate or provide learning material on student’s disability to ensure parents can better help the student on their homework outside of school and non-English parent can help the child with barrier for their educational.

If the teacher needs to explain the student’s progress, it’s important that the bridge of communication is solid by providing interpreters or translators for both parent and teacher so that student isn’t the one interpreting their progress to the parents.

Parents need to be more involved in their child’s education and understand student’s needs so that the parents are making decisions for the students, rather than letting teachers make all the decisions.

Bring more awareness and involvement school community events.

I strongly believe in the importance of family values, unity within neighborhoods and communities, and become better citizens.

Communities need to keep an eye out for students when they get out of school to help participate in child safety and activities. Community watch program should be throughout the day.

Summary

I am committed to providing representation for all diversity needed for our students, and have a background in education and advocacy for the disabled. I will represent all students and families at the School Board

I am committed to providing representation for all diversity needed for our students, and have a background in education and advocacy for the disabled. I will represent all students and families at the School Board. I live and work in Stockton; I understand the unique needs of a family with a child with disabilities. The skills challenges facing many of the students in School Board shouldn't be overlooked; our students shouldn’t be left behind.

I will balance the narrow spectrum of views that have been dominated the School Board and encourage different viewpoints in addition to traditional education; we need to update and change procedures for students of all abilities and opportunity for all curriculum, Support Zero Tolerance for Bullies and Drugs, Support College Prep Program.

I will advocate for and support programs to protect our disabled students, encourage growth and communication skills with children within public schools, English Second Language for Latin Community support family for Adult School for their Citizenship course and 2nd English class for them to be available; Children with disabilities should be enrolled in mainstream school if possible from elementary.
