For more than 30 years, Maxine Toler has made neighborhood empowerment her life’s work.

Through organizing the Around the Block Club, advocating for health equity, and strengthening Inglewood’s public services, Maxine has a proven record of putting our community first.

As a City Councilwoman, Maxine will ensure Inglewood’s future prosperity included everyone. She will focus on helping local small businesses, entrepreneurs, and residents take advantage of the economic opportunities provided by new development. She’ll help keep housing affordable and push for new housing developments to include affordable options. She’ll also work with the police department to keep neighborhoods safe and respond to your needs by delivering basic public services.

Maxine spent 20 years working as a human resources professional and raised her two adult sons in Inglewood. She has a deep connection to every aspect of Inglewood’s community. She’s advocated to create a Business Improvement District along Manchester Blvd. and push for more healthful food establishments in Inglewood. She has served on numerous neighborhood boards and city commissions, working on behalf of students, seniors, and the protecting the character and history of Inglewood.
