Candidate Focus

Kimberly Clark's priorities for the Orange County Board of Education stakeholders.

A student centered focus:  The Orange County Board of Education must be student centered.  Ultimately, all decisions should be made to better serve our students.

Making school safety a priority, with a focus on student wellness and mental health: Assist local districts in assessing current safety plans and provide opportunities for school stakeholders, including school leaders, law enforcement agencies, and other community members to address school safety issues.  Promote the health and wellness of all students to advance both their healthy development and ensure readiness to learn.

Linking K-12 to College and Career:  Stress the importance of student success, student accessibility, and student completion. Provide opportunities for those students who aspire to attain their vocational goals. Provide access and attainability for students to move forward to community college and 4-year colleges and universities. Address the issue of wide skill gaps and completion rates with our diverse student body.

Protect parent rights to school choice, including nonprofit charter schools:  It is important that all parents have the option of choosing a great local public school or a nonprofit charter school that is the best school for their kids.
