My Top 3 Priorities

  • Lay foundation for future wins by ensuring the County Committee contacts each first-time voting Democrat after each election to thank those new voters personally for casting a ballot.
  • Development of a retail workers' issues subcommittee of the Democratic County Committee because Santa Clara County's future Democratic Party voting success needs economically-challenged voters to feel respected and heard by Democratic Party leaders.
  • Strengthening local geographic-focused Democratic clubs in our district so Milpitas, Berryessa, East SJ, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale each have diverse, functioning Democratic clubs that mirror each community's demographics by ethnicity, age and gender.

Biography

As an elected member of the Democratic National Committee for 16 years and as a locally-elected official for 12 years, I bring a unique blend of Democratic Party knowledge and community experience to the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee.  Democratic activism finds success when we transcend the petty competitions between cities in our county to ensure that each of our communities develops a long-term plan for electoral wins.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Democrats win when Democrats vote.  We not only need to register Democrats so our voter base refreshes regularly, but we also need prepared Democrats in locally-elected and locally-appointed decision-making roles.  City Councils, Boards of Education, Planning Commissions and the many appointed municipal boards and commissions need strong voices from local Democrats to advocate for wise decisions.

The Democratic County Central Committee is a representative democracy, but local geographically-focused clubs are direct democracies where we build the "farm teams" for future leadership.  The County Committee can provide training for these local clubs to strengthen recruitment, fundraising and goal-setting.

I ask for your re-election vote.
