My Top 3 Priorities

  • Grow our economy by creating a coalition of leaders from business, education and government to create a strategic plan that facilitates growth in emerging local businesses and removes varriers.
  • Invest in public safety to not only make our streets safe, but to move people out of homelessness, substance abuse and poverty
  • Leverage the assets of our riverfront, historic downtown, outdoor lifestyle and creative citizens to attract skilled workers and make Redding a place where our children have a future.

My husband and I moved To Redding 27 years ago with our two sons, making this city our forever home.  As a mom, I’m grieved that my oldest son relocated elsewhere for work.

I see a city full of natural beauty, talent, and tremendous potential.   I will focus our attention on leveraging our natural beauty and quality of life to make Redding a place to start a business, and create opportunities for our children.

Our chronic economic malaise is the root of increasing crime, drug abuse, and homelessness.  As we make our streets safer, I will work with city leaders to target and replicate growth in our emerging start-ups; reduce barriers to job growth, and leverage our assets to attract skilled workers.

My experience as a medical provider has been ideal training for identifying root problems, triaging priorities, and creating a treatment plan grounded in evidenced-based solutions.  I have a degree in genetics from UCD,  a degree in nursing from CSUS, and a Masters in nursing from UCLA.

I serve on the board of Advance Redding as well as the City of Redding's, Community Development Advisory Committee. I am a member of Redding Rotary, Shasta Living Streets, the League of Women Voter's, Friends of the Library, Shasta Historical Society, and the Shasta County Arts Council.

I believe the story of Redding is yet to be told and I want to be part of the generation that creates a future for my children and grand-children.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I believe the role of government is to provide infrastructure, ppublic safety, justice, education and opportunities for all people to succeed.  My medical background has a profound influence on my decision making.  I view the city from a systems philosophy and  vision and strategic planning with measurable goals, accurate data, and evidenced based solutions are how I evaluate and treat city issues.   I am a good listener and will look for ways to hear from citizens. I am a collaborator by nature and am not interested in political labels or partisan politics.  I value personal freedom, as long as that freedom is not at the expense of others and I hold that in tension with personal responsibility.  I am interested in smart growth that is sustainable and protects the environment and our quality of life for the next generation.
