My Top 3 Priorities

  • HOUSING & HOMELESSNESS: I am committed to working closely with the County of Monterey to address our homeless population with the right resources and attention. Salinas is experiencing sky-rocketing rents. We must increase inventory of housing.
  • PUBLIC SAFETY: Strong police and fire services for every resident is our greatest responsibility. I will be continue to be sure our men and women in uniform are well supported with modern facilities & equipment.
  • ROADS & SIDEWALKS: Salinas has hundreds of miles of roads and sidewalks that need immediate attention. I am committed to addressing them with the help of County, State and Federal support.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I see my role on the City Council as community service and nothing more. I am a family man and advocate for a strong city one neighbor at a time. I am a registered Independent / No Party Preference voter. I believe local government should remain non-partisian.  Outside of my top priorities here on Voters Edge, I am advocate for small business and an advocate for grass-roots neighborhood safety. I've spent a lot of time as an elected official prioritizing community meetings.  The more engaged the public in their City, the stronger the City. I am an advocate for the arts. I authored our City's Arts Ordinance and founded our City's Food and Wine Festival.  I believe in transparency and pride myself on being accessible, enthusiastic and a problem solver. We are building new police and library facilities. I’m proud to say we are spending more on housing, infrastructure & strong neighborhoods as well. I have ushered in funding for downtown improvements and established the City’s first Arts Commission.

We deserve a safe City and a City that has adequate housing, great roads and opportunities for residents. I serve as your City Councilman for these reasons and ask for your vote. Salinas has a bright future. It just takes the right leadership. I’m prepared to offer my best skills to ensure safety, adequate housing and streets that don’t destroy your car.
