Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Our children, parents, teachers, support staff and community deserve the best leadership in the Alisal Union School District.  We deserve transparency in decision-making, accountability in how our taxes are spent and increased community involvement in decisions such as naming our local schools.

These past 5 years serving on the board of Alisal USD, I've learned the importance of having the right representatives in these positions.  I lived through a difficult year dealing with a rogue board member, her family and a group of corrupt and self- serving individuals.

I was elected President of the Board as soon as I was sworn into office.  Many people were unhappy with the results of the election and would voice their comments at each and every meeting.  Personally attacking me, my family, my children and everyone around me.  I would remain calm, yet firm through these attacks.  I was accosted, threatened, intimidated, yet nothing would dissuade me from our goal, our vision.  We needed to clean up the district, for the students.

The people became tired of their actions and decided to recall this board member. We were taking them head on and moving forward.  With a people led, successful recall, everything began to change. We were back in business.

I believe in strong collaborations, working with the people, open and honest conversations and building relationships across the board.  No one can reach success without the others help.

I believe in serving the community, having the best for our students, and addressing the many needs of our families.
