As current Tracy Unified School District School Board trustee, special education teacher, and devoted parent, I will continue to work hard to improve our schools. As your school board trustee, I will continue to keep partnerships, not politics, a priority. We need the collaboration of students, teachers, parents, administrators, community stakeholders, and school members to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The conditions of our school facilities are improving; I will not rest until all of our students attend safe, clean schools that are conducive to learning. I’m currently a member of the superintendent’s facilities committee comprised of three board members. We ensure that every tax-payer penny is spent on the Measure E school bond projects that Tracy voters passed in 2006.

Academic achievement remains my top priority and I will continue to support staff development, up to date standards-based curriculum, and new technology to improve communication with parents. I’m dedicated to raising the academic bar and closing the achievement gap between high and low performing students.

Your vote will help me continue to improve the quality of education for all Tracy students. Let’s work together to make a positive impact on the future of Tracy.

Political Philosophy

Keeping Tracy Kids First is my goal to help all students achieve academic success. First in our hearts, first on our agenda, first in our actions.

When iI embarked on this educational journey 14 years ago. I ran because I loved Tracy and I wanted our students to attend the best schools. I was much younger then. 35 years old with lots of passion and big dreams. Our Board and Supt. Dr. Franco went to the citizens of Tracy identified the needs and placed a school bond on the ballot. We set up committees made of people from all backgrounds in Tracy and found out what the needs were. By giving citizens a voice in the process we passed the bond overwhelmingly. That’s how we were able to build the West High field. We’ve passed 2 bonds since then and we’ve rebuilt and repaired many of our schools at a very low cost to tax payers. Our Board has ensured the every penny of the tax payers money has been spent to rebuild the schools.

Working together to make a difference!! If students, teachers, classified staff, administrators,  and parents continue to work together we can continue to produce top students.

Students- we recognize your hard work and effort. Our tests schools increased this year and we want to continue to provide up to date curriculum and facilities and a college going culture. Programs like summer bridge and AVID help students get connected to their school and teaches study skills to help students achieve and complete their A-G requirements.

Teachers- We value you. We don’t want to lose you to other districts. We will continue to keep and salary benefits package competitive to enable us the attract, and retain the best teachers in San Joaquin County.

Classified staff- Our district could not function without our bus drivers, paraprofessionals, security  custodians, and office staff members. I appreciate all that you do on a daily to help our students develop. Vote for me on November 6, 2018 to help me continue to invest in the future of Tracy.
